It happened on a Friday night.........PART1

Hi guys,

I want to tell you all about a great adventure that we ( Deepak, Karthik MN
and me ) had.

The story begins on a Friday night (December 1, 2006).........

After a day's hard work, we decided that we had to chill out somewhere.......
So we hit the Downtown PUB (off Brigade Road). It was then that I got to know
that it was MN's Birthday on the morrow. We all decided that we will stay
till 12 and then wish him and go home.
In the meantime, MN got the news that he had become an UNCLE ( Karthik Uncle).
He was very happy, so were we for him. We decided that we really had to
celebrate.
After we were literally asked to leave from the PUB at 2315hrs ( closing time you see, else cops will pick you up ), I started searching the various lanes to get a celebratory CIGAR!! ( what other way to celebrate MN's promotion to Uncle ).

ALAS!!

The night curfew holds good for my favourite shops too.. So downhearted we came back to in front of Downtown again and started to finish off the last of cigarettes that we had. At the same time around, we hear loud music as though the PUB has re-opened. We looked around and guess what????

It was an Auto that was parked there and that was the one playing the good music ( loud enough to bring the house down ). I swear to God, the quality of the speakers was also too good.

We stood there for about 10mins, then couldn't control ourselves and we hired the auto.

He asked "Where to saaar?"

But where would we go??
Our bikes were parked right in front of Downtown!! But we wanted to go in that AUTO very badly.....

So we say, " Nowhere, just take us around MG road!!"

He is surprised, but then MN explains to him in whatever Kannada that he could speak that his sister-in-law has given birth to a girl and he wants to celebrate...

The Auto fellow obliged, he gets into the AUTO and turns ON the meter....

That was surprising on Suresh's part. ( That was the fellow's name, I noted it from the Drivers card that they sport nowadays)

He took us to the end of MG road, came till Jewels de pargon, took a left, through Lavelle road, into St. Marks road and back to residency road.

Just near Imperial hotel ( Ya, the one that remains open till 2am ), we stopped him and went to replenish our cigarettes stock. Then I suddenly remembered the CIGAR....

Guess what, that fellow had it and we bought one...

Came back to Downtown. Paid the AUTO, it was worth the money and a ride to remember. Going through MG road with speakers on FULL BLAST........... that too in an AUTO.

I dunno how many of you had that kind of experience.......

Anyways it was around 1159. We light the cigar and give MN a hug and wish him for the BIRTHDAY.....

Then MN is a tad unhappy as nobody called him on his cell. Then suddenly his cellphone rings, he picks it up and sees the screen, then picks up the call and says,

" Hello AJAY"

I say, " HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAN".

Yes guys I was the one who called him and wished him as he wanted someone to call him too.

Then the phone rings again and this time it is Deepak.

Deepak says, " Hey MN, VERY VERY HAPPY RETURNS of THE DAY".

How could we not fulfill a guy's Birthday wish????????

Then after he gets one or two calls who wish him Birthday...

He is HAPPY and is literally on TOP of the world.


Then...................

All of you, who thought that the story is over, it has just begun.

This is my first BLOG entry. Frankly, I never thought I would have the patience or perseverance to write a blog. But like always I have changed my opinion and thoughts, (for the better I guess!).
